Ford logo revamp.

Sorry for the delay in both posting my Ford logo redesign and posting in general. In the future I will try to post more frequently. Anyway, here is my version of the logo.

I had a lot of fun with this and I may do a few more versions later on. Please leave a comment on what you like or dislike about my redesign. Also, I’m still waiting for submissions; there are two subjects at this point that may be covered, the Ford logo and Garfield the cat. Let’s see what you got. Lastly, I’ll be posting a business sign challenge in a few days so stay tuned. Until then, stay inspired.

Now taking submissions.

I am now setup to take submissions. If you look to the right at the sidebar you will see submission guidelines. It may not be the best guideline page but it works for now. As I said before I’m new to blogging and as I learn more about customizing I will slowly change and tweak this blog. I’m not sure exactly how I will be posting submissions just yet but I will include your name and website if you have one. I may just post each submission as a single post with a label of the content that was remade or revamped as opposed to inserting an image into one of my posts. I will learn what works best as I go.

Bambi legs!

I am a total noob when it comes to blogging. I'm not sure of a lot of things but will learn as I go (hopefully). In the next couple of days I hope to get a link to a submissions page in my sidebar. This blog requires reader submissions so that's kinda important. So for the next couple of days and weeks hang in there with me while I iron out the wrinkles. In the mean time, I'll give you your first challenge to start thinking about.

How would you resigned this logo?

I started to redesign this logo a few days ago after reading an article about Paul Rand. The article had a picture of his version of the Ford logo but it was never used. Anyway, once I vectorize my rough sketch I'll share it with you.
Welcome!

My name is Juston and I am a self-taught artist from Pennsylvania. As an artist I am often inspired by other artists or like-minded people. To see beautiful works others have created brings joy to my life. There are many dedicated people out there that put every ounce of themselves into what they do from illustrators to character designers, sculptors to graphic artists and the list goes on. I must admit, I am not as dedicated but I appreciate the amount of time and hard work other people have poured into their craft.

One aspect of art that I am really drawn to is fanart or cover art. Cover art in this context refers to the remaking or revamping of someone else’s work. Here is an awesome blog that is dedicated to comic book covers that have been covered. Remakes and Revamps is a blog that will explore the idea of redoing. My goal with this blog is to post images that I would like to see redone by [you] the reader and to challenge you (and myself) as well.

As I stated I like fanart so from time to time I will post a character that I would like to see redrawn with a fresh new take. Awhile back I decided to reinterpret the beloved cat Garfield by Jim Davis

This is one of Jim's versions

The two below are mine. The left one was inspired by UMINGA and the right was done to explore techniques I learned in a two week Renaissance drawing class. Okay, they're not the best drawings but remember I said, "I must admit, I am not as dedicated..."

Another area that I love is graphic design. There are several books on the topic in my personal library and I have read many articles about it too. I am not a graphic designer myself but I have done some freelance work in the field. Why tell you this? Because, some of my posts, possibly the majority of them will be of business signs and logos that in my opinion could be tweaked.

This blog will hopefully inspire artists, from beginners to professionals and from all backgrounds to challenge themselves and possibly inspire others to do the same. I am looking forward to seeing what wonderful remakes and revamps this blog inspires.
