Yoga Sign.

Well here it is.

I saw this on the side of a vehicle at a local farmers' market. I altered the phone number to guard against phone spamming but everything else is original. I also found the logo from the studio's website to get a better look at it.

I know that start up costs can be high for new ventures and a few of the items that suffer from these costs are logos and sings. When a person starts out they will higher people they can afford to handle items like websites, logos, branding,  and other design based services. There is nothing wrong with doing the best you can with what you have but often as a start up gains momentum, the owner seldom goes back over design elements. I have done some freelance graphic design work and had some repeat business from a few clients. If I would have done work similarly to this I don't believe I would have had the repeats. I should note that I never had a graphic design business, I stumbled on some people that needed work done and submitted my designs.

I don't want to cut down the person who created the Earth Lotus logo and sign (they are doing business and I am not) but little effort went into this creation. The logo is just two simple vector shapes with a gradient fill. When I hear Earth Lotus I think of a lotus first and then it's connection or oneness with the earth. The logo could have at least had a simplified earth in the center rather than a circle with a gradient fill. Anyway, I hope to get some time this week to try my hand at recreating a logo and a new sign layout for this Earth Lotus challenge.

There you have it, a challenge that may be interesting enough to tackle this time. Looking forward to seeing some great designs.

Too Long.

Well, it's been too long since my last post. I did not forget about my readers, I have just been busy teaching myself HTML5 and CSS3. Okay it's more like learning html and a dash of CSS. Any rate, I will have a new challenge posted by the end of this weekend. I have taken a few photos of some business signs I'd like to see reworked. I just have to resize them and post them on here for people to tackle. Until then, stay creative.
